Bill and Cathy end their successful royal tour with quiet, restrained chicness. Well. She does, anyway. He just goes about dressed like a middle school teacher.
Here’s the thing about the Duchess: When she’s on British soil, she’s a figurehead and she dresses like one. When she does a royal tour, she tends to dress more like, well… a person. She gives herself permission to ditch the sturdy militaristic uniform of coat dresses and fascinators. While both of these looks reference Pakistani clothing traditions and styles, they are also perfectly wearable and stylish clothes for any woman to go about her day in Great Britain. And we suspect, as we often do when she loosens up on tour, that the bold colors, embroidery, prints and flowy pieces you see her sport on trips like these are closer to how she’d rather dress if she wasn’t the kind of person who has commemorative stamps issued with her face on them.
She looks spectacular in both.
