Elle Fanning, serving up the one thing we never truly expect from her:
Pure Hollywood glamour. Miss Girl’s defined herself with romantic looks and Disney Princess realness through a good portion of her career, and we always said she should lean into it for as long as she can. She’s obviously suited to it, her career partially depends on it, and it’s a style that has an expiration date so you may as well go all-in while the getting’s good. We knew she’d be transitioning to more adult, sophisticated and sexy looks sooner rather than later.
We make no predictions about future style choices, though. Girlfriend’s still got a Maleficent film to promote, so the idea that she’s cast off the Princess Drag permanently is not likely. If anything, she might be indulging in this simple, straight-up Glam right now because come the fall, she’ll be stuck in enough frills and flowers to gag a fairy. To that we say, “Get it, girl.” She looks fantastic. We’re taking this as a preview of her post-Maleficent style and we look forward to seeing more of it.
