WE GOT SOME X-LADIES FACING OFF UP IN HERE. Miss Jennifer and Miss Sophie have been battling out for red carpet attention on the Dark Phoenix promo front and while we’re kind of used to seeing Sophie step it up, we were pleasantly surprised by J Law’s newfound commitment to serving lewks.
Lo’s Defense: I freaking LOVE this. It’s chic, sexy, modern and fun. It takes a great picture because it’s loaded with visual and textural information. It’s perfectly accessorized and styled. It’s got the kind of boldness you want for superhero movie premiere while keeping the color story low-key and high-fashion. It’s sexy and feminine, but it’s got a hardness and strength to it, with the use of the heavy belt and the visible zipper. It just works for me on a lot of different levels and she looks great.
T’s Defense: I Don’t think I’ve ever seen her nail this particular style of low-key elegance and chicness. In a way, it’s very French, which makes it appropriate for Dior but also begs the question as to why she was ever named its spokesperson, since she so rarely hit the mark this exactly. It’s dramatic, it’s dark and mature in a way that really suits her, it’s sexy, and it’s got just the right amount of glamour. It may be one of the best-styled looks she’s ever worn. It’s definitely my favorite J Law look in years.
TWO QUEENS STAND BEFORE YOU. Which one’s it gonna be? The sexy ingenue superhero, or the dramatic and chic superhero?
