Tilda Swinton in Chanel Couture at the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s 50th Anniversary Gala

It is our sad duty to inform you that you may have to prepare yourselves before you scroll down. Not because Tilda has broken out the cray once again in her style choices and you might be treated to something eye-searing and hard to understand. Not because she has once again reached sublime levels of chic weirdness. No, kittens. You need to prepare yourselves because … absolutely nothing like that is going to happen when you scroll down. And by that we mean you will encounter nothing challenging; nothing weirdly chic. Instead, you’re going to be treated to a Tilda style we don’t think anyone could have predicted.

We present to you …

Tilda Swinton, First Lady of the United States of America.

Yes, we’re shocked too. Of all the turns her style could have taken, a hard left into respectable and un-notable fashion was the very last thing we could have predicted for her. A tasteful black dress, pink lipstick and unremarkable pumps. A lady’s got a right to wear whatever she wants and we can’t honestly say anything looks bad here, but what a disappointment to see her looking so normal. In Chanel no less.
