We’ll give it to Miss Katy for making one hell of an entrance and stopping everyone dead in their tracks with her ensemble.
It’s kind of hilarious. We tend to think it crosses a line into costume design and we fully admit that line is hazy and possibly being arbitrarily applied by us. But this seriously looks like a costume for a live-action theatrical production of some sort of Disney property. Of course this is the Costume Institute’s gala and that description alone makes it sound pretty campy, but as much as we appreciate the effort and the commitment, we don’t think this is quite how it should’ve been done.
