Louis Vuitton Resort 2020 Fashion Show at JFK’s Historic TWA Flight Center

Posted on May 14, 2019

Nicolas Ghesquière transformed the landmark TWA Flight Center, designed by the architect Eero Saarinen in 1962, at New York’s JFK Airport into a tropical oasis for his Louis Vuitton Resort 2020 Show. The TWA Flight Center has been recently renovated and turned into a hotel and conference center.

Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director of Women’s Collections shares why he chose the Eero Saarinen-designed terminal as the backdrop for his next Cruise Collection: “I was lucky enough to have landed at the TWA Flight Center in the late Nineties. It was something I could never forget. This place was forgotten for twenty years and now has come back to life. It’s like a sanctuary that has been revived and seeing it enchant anew in a different iteration, as a hotel, is a great pleasure. It’s about rediscovering an uncommon place that nevertheless is part of American heritage.”
