Miss Brie is out here, doing the damn work. And we’re gonna have to hand it to her. We did not expect her to be slinging such bold and unique lewks on this tour.
Brie Larson in Azzaro on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
This is pretty great. The jumpsuit couldn’t be more perfect for her and for a talk show. The silver stripes help her to pop onscreen and she looks really confortable. Those shoes are GOOFY AS HELL but we kind of respect the choice. They work for sitting down but just about nothing else.
Brie Larson in Derek Lam 10 Crosby at “Good Morning America”
This is a sharp style and we love the perfectly superhero color story. We thought this was a Thom Browne suit at first glance but it doesn’t have quite the same high-end feel to it. It almost comes off like a doorman’s uniform. A good idea, but the results are only so-so.
Brie Larson in Rodarte at the “Captain Marvel” New York Special Screening
Okay yes, this does give off the whiff of Talent Night at the retirement community rec center, but if nothing else, the girl really stepped up her game. The difference between these three looks is pretty wide and yet they all feel cohesive as a promotional wardrobe. They’re all pants, all boldly colored or sparkly, all strongly declarative while avoiding a lot of womenswear cliches like bows and ruffles and skirts. Maybe she’s not hitting the mark with every look, but overall, her game plan has been surprisingly solid.
