Well, it finally happened. Mr. Boseman let us down. We should consider this a good thing. No, really. First, he should be commended for continuing to seek out and wear challenging menswear that breaks down barriers and ways of thinking. Second, in doing so, he revealed something we don’t think we’ve ever seen before in fashion. The FMMO Look.

After years and years of waving ladystars away from those ensembles that should never see the light of the real world, we have finally found the For Models Only look – for men. The FMMO Look. We’ve never actually seen one before and it took us some time to figure out what we were looking at. You see, some garments are designed in the rarefied terrarium of the fashion world, where ideas can get a little flighty and connections to the outside world a little spotty. In this bubble of chicness, certain designs make their way through the process. These designs tend to look amazing for the 90 seconds a professional clothes-wearer works them in the average runway show, under perfect lighting conditions. It tends to lose all its drama when you take it away from that setting and wearer. Sorry, Chadwick. No one could’ve worked this weird little LIZA getup. You tried, though.
