Darlings, a trio of internationally fabulous women to judge at one of the most high-fashion events on the New York calendar! It’s like Santa Claus came early! Except he left kind of blandly disappointing gifts, considering they’ve all got a Chanel label sewn inside.
Julianne Moore
This isn’t too bad, but the ’60s flight attendant uniform really isn’t the best style for her. The boots and cuff give it a little edge and glamour. And she’s doing her job and making it work for pictures, like the pro that she is. But we wouldn’t have rec’d this dress for her, if anyone had the sense to ask us first.
Marion Cotillard
We both have the most pained expressions on our faces, taking this in. It … almost works. There’s a late ’70s/early ’80s “professional woman” vibe in the Faye Dunaway/Jane Fonda mode. But the whole thing appears to be leather – and rather overworked leather at that. The style’s not bad, but the choice of textile makes it all look heavy and unwearable.
Penélope Cruz
Another dress that really doesn’t seem like the wearer’s style at all. Penelope likes dresses with some sweep to them and she also prefers to keep her color choices fairly neutral. But that big feathered skirt isn’t her style at all and the proportions on it are terrible.
