Miss Hailee’s got reason to look thrilled. This movie’s getting surprisingly good reviews and more importantly (to us, anyway), she scored a pretty killer dress for this premiere. If you’ve heard us drone on and on self-importantly (as we tend to do now and then) about genre-dressing on the red carpet, forgive us, but we’re going to briefly drone about it again. Real quick: it’s when you dress in a style that supports the genre of project you’re promoting WITHOUT dressing in costume or in character. For romantic films, you dress frilly and floral and somewhat conservatively. For superhero films, you dress bold and bright and body-con. For awards track period dramas, you dress glamorously (to show your range and willingness to pick up awards). For science-fiction films, you dress in edgy, futuristic fare.
Miss Woman NAILED IT:
She looks like she’s a rendering halfway through the special effects process, which makes it just about flawless as a choice for this kind of film. And it’s a killer look in its own right that takes a fantastic picture and looks great on her. This is not the time for conventionality and she really understood that and ran with it. Respect.
