Kittens, this week’s CAGEMATCH OF FASHION comes down to whether you’re feeling bold personal and political statements with an edge or whether you’re just in the mood for some good, old-fashioned pretty-glam.
Lo’s Defense: It’s strong, it’s bold, it’s unforgettable. She could have come out looking like the movie star she is now – especially since she loves to play Glamour Gaga whenever she can, but in her acceptance speech she talked about what it means to be a woman in entertainment, a sexual assault survivor and someone who lives with chronic pain. She told everyone that this suit was a response to all those facts and factors and that she was making a very clear statement about her own power and her own momentary rejection of high glamour artifice. Whether you agree with her reasons or not, it’s a strong case of using the red carpet to say something that means something.
T’s Defense: Okay, fine. But my girl looks fabulous as fuck.
And there you have it! Two distinct arguments in support of two major red carpet moments! CHOOSE YOUR CHOICE, DARLINGS!
