First, we should acknowledge that Rodarte has once again tamped down on its inherent Rodarteness and offered up a dress perfectly suited for the red carpet and/or a non-model. Second, we need to bow down to Miss Rachel and her style team, who went for a fully lined version instead of the wispy see-through one from the runway. But to us, this looks like half a good frock. See if you can predict which half works and which doesn’t for your ol’ pals T Lo.
Top half good, bottom half bad. We just can’t get behind the shape and length of that skirt, which looks incredibly awkward to us. The bodice is lovely and she looks truly spectacular from the waist up, but we’re gonna need a ruling from y’all as to whether the skirt ruins the look or the look overcomes the skirt. Or, if you want to be total rebels about it, you could argue that the skirt works fine as-is and it’s the top that’s the problem. Go for it, kittens.
