We wouldn’t consider Kate all that much of a fit for the Miu Miu brand. Too much of an east coast preppy pedigree, not to mention a taste for slightly more hipster fare than their brand of 1970 princess drag. It’s a surprise to see her working a Miu Miu look as well as she’s doing here, but this isn’t exactly your typical Miu Miu look.
We went over this one with a fine-toothed comb of bitchiness, from the mismatch of the patterns to the weirdly huge belt loops worn without a belt to the pretty little criss-cross silver sandals, trying to divine whether this seemingly random pile of elements and items could work as a look. Our judgment? It really can. We still have issues with the waist and would love to see this look with a big belt to fill those loops, but we like the mismatch, we like the color story, we even like the pop of silver. It suits her well and comes off surprisingly fresh. She looks really great.
