Friday Leftovers for the Week of October 7th, 2018 – Part TWO

Posted on October 12, 2018

Second verse, same as the first!

Amandla Stenberg

No, sweetie. In your quest to find ever more edgy fashion, you found a design by someone who has confused stupid with interesting. There is nothing to defend some of the design choices here, from the hole in the chest to the hideous leather murder smock.

Aubrey Plaza in Brock Collection

Okay, we’re a little freaked out seeing Aubrey Plaza smiling sweetly in a pretty, conservative, traditional floral. Is she going to knife us?

Billy Magnussen

It’s Comic-Con. He fills it all out nicely. We can’t hate.

Carla Gugino

We don’t know what it is with this lady. We’ve screened half the season of this show (review to come) and she looks amazing in it, as she tends to do in most of her films. Then she steps out on a red carpet and it all looks awkward and badly put together. Miss Carla, you should be acing your style. This dress is okay. Just okay.

Dominic West

Hard to hate a man in a velvet blazer, but that matchy, dingy shirt might get us to do it.

Jennifer Garner

She’s repping for a good cause and appropriately trying to project an image of strength, but a white, wrinkle-prone skirt was not the way to go.

Jessica Paré

The floral’s mumsy and that lace bib is horrible.

Jodie Foster

Can’t argue with a classic.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus

Normally, we’d complain about the plain-ness of her getup, but we’re happy to see her in good health and back in fighting trim. Some things are more important than fashion, darlings. Shocking for us to admit, we know.

Maggie Gyllenhaal (in Prada) and Jake Gyllenhaal

A rare doubblle Gyllenhaal Siighting! She looks cute, but her skirt’s too wrinkled. He looks cute but underdressed.

Natalie Dormer in Roland Mouret

She’s got the bearing and the coloring to make this work, but this seems like a very confused and slightly frantic dress in the middle of a meltdown of some sort.

Priyanka Chopra in Giorgio Armani

A great, sexy dress in a shimmery color story that looks great on her. The slit’s too high and we hate the shoes, though.

Steve Carell

Can’t argue with a classic, part 3.

Zoë Kravitz in Prada

This is very much her, but it also feels a little tired. We really like that skirt. It deserved something more than a basic bandeau top.
