Miss Emma, we don’t know what to do with this.
It’s not that we can’t come to a consensus opinion here. We definitely … are not crazy about it. What has us feeling a bit off are the seeming random pile of design elements and accessories choices. If we had to sum it up, we’d say there’s a lot going on here, but it never quite pulls together as a cohesive look. Some of this we’ll cop to as purely matters of taste. We don’t like the print or the slouchiness of the design, but we wouldn’t claim there was anything wrong with either. When it comes down to it, it’s really the styling that’s the issue here. Leaving the neckline untied ruins the lines and contributes to that slouchy, sloppy effect. And we are completely baffled by the hair accessories, which have absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the look. Like, total left-field choice. They’re not just badly matched to the design and style of the dress, but they’re kind of ridiculous, period. She looks like she accidentally backed into a rose bush. And we just now noticed the green eyeshadow. Emma, WHAT IS GOING ON HERE? This dress, while not our fave, seems relatively easy to wear and style and yet every decision after choosing it looks like the wrong one to us.
