Generally speaking, we’re pretty lenient when it comes to actors making a little side buck promoting this brand or that one. Go and get those dollar bills, we say.
And as for how to dress for these sorts of things, like any other celebrity promotional event, it comes down to what you’re selling and how you want to sell it.
Promoting an AmEx card isn’t exactly the path to relatability, but given the backdrop, we think a simple dress with old school charm was the way to go.
Sure, it looks a little bit like this dress was made out of an old blanket, like she was some sort of Depression-era Dustbowl wife, but it’s fairly cute on her and if you don’t try to read too much into the overtly homespun sort of style and accept that she’s well suited for sweetly twee looks, then this all works. There is a point, however, where even we have to draw the line.
And those Disney Princess shoes were it. Big no, girl.
