Tiffany Haddish in Tadashi Shoji at the “Night School” Los Angeles Premiere

Posted on September 26, 2018

Kittens, there’s no other way to put this: The fashion ’round these parts the past day or two has been basic and barely discussable. Here’s two kids in rocker tees paired with really expensive stuff! Here’s Blake Lively, wearing everything at once! Here’s Timothee being a Beautiful Boy! Here’s Meghan in another LBD! Here’s Gaga being glamorous! It’s like, after the introduction, there’s not a lot to say about the outfit. We bet you think this is leading up to some sort of “BUT NOT THIS TIME…” turn of events. The bad news is, that’s not gonna happen. This is still pretty basic. The good news?

She looks fantastic. We can’t say much more than that because it’s a pretty basic design, but that’s actually okay. We always say that celebrities should expand their wardrobe but also learn how to work really good basics on the regular. Having said that, there are critiques: The dress is great, but the bust is too tight and sits too low. The hair is not great at all and this style probably calls for a bit more slap on the face than that. A dress like this is all about fit, styling and accessories and we honestly can’t say she aced any of them. It’s a good look. She needs to nail down how to make it a great one and a go-to in her rotation.

Also: that backdrop is HORRIBLE. We get that the point is to sell the film and tie in with the poster, but a red carpet is supposed to be an arena where the stars look their most glamorous. She looks like she’s posing in a bus station.
