Friday Leftovers for the Week of September 2nd, 2018 – PART ONE

Posted on September 14, 2018

No time for chic-chat, chickens! We have a TON of leftover and kind of mediocre red carpetry to assess and ship out before COB today! Roll up your sleeves and let’s get to it, because there’s another batch right on the heels of this one! Why are we shouting? BECAUSE IT’S FRIDAY!

Alia Shawkat

It’s “Little Edie Beale Chic,” which is another way of saying it’s completely cray and she should be probably be ushered off this red carpet and off somewhere where she can rest.

Asa Butterfield

It’s incredibly bold and we really have to hand it to him for pulling it off, but that vest is probably a bit much.

Carey Mulligan in Chanel

Surprisingly pretty in a mainstream way; both for her and for Chanel. She looks great, if just a little generic.

Claire Foy in Oscar de la Renta

A brown and white stripe strikes us as a very difficult thing to pull off. It mostly works until you get to the bottom of that skirt.

Dan Levy

Love it – until we get to the boots, which just don’t look right at all with it. Still, he’s got a major knack for wearing ’80s menswear styles.

Gigi Hadid

She’s working the hell out of it but it looks pretty cheap and flimsy.

Gretchen Mol in Michael Kors Collection

We love everything but the matchy shoes, which take it straight to retro.

Henry Golding in Prada

Mister, that’s not your style.

Julianne Hough

Pretty enough. The shoes are really goofy, but they’re the kind a dancer would pick.

Katie Holmes in Zimmermann

LOVE this on her. Literally any time she steps out of her Zac Posen prison, she improves. The colors look fantastic and the clash of patterns makes it seem fresh.

Melissa McCarthy

Really cute dress, really horrible shoes. Ironic, because back in the day, she used to wear really killer shoes with serious questionable outfits.

Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji

Standing by her never-does-her-wrong man Tadashi, for good reason.

Olivia Munn in Laura Basci

It’s Old School Hollywood Siren, a look that can come off cliche, but one that she’s well suited for.

Taissa Farmiga in Miu Miu

Kind of loving all the navy blues we’ve been seeing this week. This is a very pretty gown nearly ruined by some seriously dicey eye makeup.

Timothée Chalamet

He’s worn this look a million times but we can’t blame him for still doing it. It’s a look he can pull off while asleep.
