To our utter delight, this poledance isn’t over yet, darlings. The chic-est cast of non-Wakandans to ever walk a red carpet are back at it again,
Awkwafina in John Paul Ataker
The “Dracula’s Daughter” styling is really the only way to go for a dress like this. We tend to think the placement of the waist and the blouson effect of the top calls for better support, but to be blunt: it’s a chronically unflattering combination, bra or no bra. The silhouette is effectively mushroom-shaped and we can’t see how anyone would want that. Still, she’s well-suited to this sort of style. She just needs a better version of it.
Constance Wu in Rodarte
Pretty and light. Exactly what the female lead of the most successful rom com in a decade should be wearing. Once again we find ourselves shocked by such a conventionally pretty and unchallenging Rodarte jawn.
Love the hair, makeup, earring combination here.
Gemma Chan in Simone Rocha
Our current reigning queen.
While we’re inclined to fall all over ourselves praising anything she wears, we have to admit, those sleeves are just too goofy to work. A shame, because the rest of it is gorgeous. Considering how meticulously it’s styled – and her own innate poise – we barely notice the goofiness, though.
Henry Golding in Scabal
He’d have been better off clean-shaven, but aside from that minor nitpick, there’s not a thing wrong here. He’s that rare guy born to work a double-breasted suit. So few of us really can.
