Rose Byrne in Christian Dior at the “Juliet, Naked” New York Premiere

Darlings, we’re all about the hard juxtapositions round these parts. And by that we mean that we love it when someone slams two styles together to make them work against all odds.

That is not, unfortunately, what is happening here.

It turns out “Keira Knightley + Lady Gaga” is a pretty terrible style mashup.

Once again our style dictum has been proven: Runway looks should stay on runways – for the exactly 90 seconds or so required of them in that venue. After that, and out in the real world, things start looking kinda goofy.

It’s a pretty dress, although we suppose it would come off pretty generic without the incongruous belt.

Are we feeling this? It seems to us there’s been an upsurge in the quality of/interest in decent romantic comedies lately. It was never our favorite genre (seeing as how heteronormative it tends to be) but we admit that recent entries like The Guernsey Potato Peel and Literary Society and Set It Up have offered pleasant and entertaining diversions. The setup seems a little convoluted, but the cast is pretty appealing. Yes/No?
