On the one hand, we want to thank Miss Hayley for playing neatly into our plans for massive, worldwide fashion retail and trend-forecasting dominance. On the other hand, we wish she’d done so with a slighly more substantial dress. Scroll down and we’ll explain.
See, our next “Translating the Trends” post is in the pipeline and it’s all about the fall 2018 runway trend for animal prints. We always find it ever-so-helpful when a celebrity steps out wearing something that we’re just about to declare the thing you need to have. But it helps if that piece is truly covetable and … you tell us. Does this frock look like something every woman needs.
Oh, it’s got a simple and flattering shape, of course. We don’t think she looks bad in the style at all. But the best parts of modern animal print deployment tend to be those parts that interpret or update it. The cuffed sleeves and somewhat flimsy textile, combined with the half-assed styling (You couldn’t pick a sassy belt even?) make it a just-okay iteration of a trend that has a little more life to it than you’re seeing here.
