Kittens, it’s been kind of a crazy week on the blogging front but also (not coincidentally) a bit of a three-ring circus in the world of red carpetry. After a red carpet dry spell that tried our patience, the clouds have opened up and a deluge of attention-seeking fashion landed in our laps – more than we could handle, for the first time in months. Join us, won’t you? As we clean up this mess and clear out our weekly files by judging the hell out of these fair-to-middling efforts.
Shiny, wrinkly and oversized. Miss Angela, you deserve so much better than this. Although duty compels us to point out that she kinda has a history of highly questionable jumpsuits.
Church clothes, but pretty church clothes.
While we’re glad he no longer wears little tiny vests and newsboy caps on the RC (too precious), this is a little dull.
Gabrielle Union in Abodi
Pretty fabulous, we have to admit. Gorgeous color.
Hannah Gross in Prada
We’ll give her credit for doing the best kind of styling that hideous shirt requires, but it’s still a hideous shirt. And the bag simply clashes.
Hilary Duff in Alice + Olivia
A really cute dress that doesn’t hide her baby bump, but doesn’t make it center stage either, if you know what we mean. It fits her just right. Not at all in love with the shoe color. We don’t care how trendy it is, it doesn’t go with the dress.
Jeff Goldblum in Prada
Who is he talking to? He’s always photographed mid-sentence. We figure he’s regaling the photographers with tales of his Jeff Goldblumness.
He looks great, but the black boots aren’t quite right.
Newp. Bad color, cheap-looking garments.
Who cares what she’s doing? The point is that she’s Kristi Dawn and this is how it goes with her. A bathing suit, heels and a beach ball on the sidewalk? If it gets you to pay attention to Kristi Dawn, so be it.
Madison Beer in Faith Connexion
It starts off so generic and gets more exciting as you scroll down. Not necessarily more stylish, but at least she’s got the element of surprise going for her.
“CHECK OUT MY SHIT OUTFIT!”
Paz Vega in Ulyana Sergeenko
Surprisingly pretty, considering the tough color combo, slighty mumsy-ness and unresolved sleeves.
Are we good at backhanded compliments or what?
The skirt is pretty, but the design of the bodice is terribly unflattering. And the color does nothing for her.
He’s cute, but so boring in his style. It all feels so tightly controlled.
Sonequa Martin-Green in Narces
We love her, but this is tacky as hell. The earrings and the white-backed dotted swiss are what really push it past redeemable.
She’s really been re-embracing her inner Barbie lately. We approve. This is seriously fun and appropriately ridiculous.
Vanessa Hudgens in Galia Lahav
It’s fine enough. We certainly wouldn’t ding anyone for wearing sequins to a Michael Jackson tribute. The combo of turtleneck and short-shorts is a bit tough to get past, but if we look at it like a dancer’s costume, it sort of works. Of course, she wasn’t there to do a dance routine so far as we know, but we’re feeling kindhearted at the moment.
