On the one hand, we salute Miss Freida for bringing her fashion A Game on a night for representation and cultural recognition. Bring that high-fashion glam when the spotlight swings your way, girl. Respect.
On the other hand, this is a whole hell of a lot of dress…
There’s a definite sense of drama and we suppose it could be considered photogenic in the sense that any photographer there probably climbed over the other ones to get a shot of it, but as much as we want to send huzzahs her way, we can’t support this choice. This dress is overdesigned and overwhelming. Lace ruffles, giant bows, goofy-ass sleeves, and an embroiderer who hit her manic phase right around the time she got to the waist on this thing. It’s a NEWP all around, Miss Lady. Sorry. If it’s any consolation, we can’t think of one ladystar who could make this work better.
