We have to admit, we were a little disappointed by this one.
Of course she looks gorgeous and glamorous and hot and all those other words you’re supposed to use to describe J Lo on an MTV red carpet. But our first impulse was to consider the look a bit tame and generic; almost like a really well done RuPaul’s Drag Race runway look – which is not exactly a compliment in this context. She looks great, just not what we’d have considered “J Lo great,” if that makes any sense.
But she was there to pick up the Video Vanguard award, which tends to honor the mega-stars, and she also gave a pretty burn-the-house-down performance, so showing up looking like a J Lo impersonator on a really good night might not have been the worst idea in the world. It’s like she’s serving uncut, pharmaceutical-grade J Lo.
And who can argue with that?
