Between Michonne and Okoye, Miss Danai is extremely well-versed in the navigating of the pop culture nerditry world and knows exactly how to dress for the con in a way that keeps her comfy, on point, and glam when she wants to be.

Well, there’s no denying it looks pretty amazing from the back, that’s for sure. Which isn’t to say we hate the front, but it sure is overdesigned and full of the kinds of elements (belly cutouts, paperbag waists, bows) that tend to make our eyelids twitch most furiously. But the colors look fantastic on her and the fit is great. She’s got a magic quality that forces all the unlikeable aspects of this design into the background. It’s still way too fussy with too many elements, but she can make them all seem unimportant or less noticeable somehow.

We’ll have more of the looks from this particular bash in a bit, but trust us when we say, very few of the attendees came off looking as chic and glam as she does here. And the funny thing is we might have dinged this dress for being a little dull on someone else in a different setting. But it’s just right for here and she’s got a Lupita-like ability to make a basic sparkly LBD come off like the most dazzling fashion you’ve seen in ages.
