Fresh on the heels of Monday’s masterful audience tease, in which the first image of Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth was unexpectedly dropped in the world’s collective lap (along with the one-word admonition “Patience), Netflix continues to win the drip-drip-drip method of PR by doling out two more images with two more single-word captions added. Brace yourselves for Helena Bonham Carter practically dripping with ennui and attitude (not to mention eyeliner) as Princess Margaret, as well as Ben Daniels, looking properly concerned and wounded as her husband Antony Armstrong-Jones. The captions for each?
Which means for season three, they’re likely to be diving deep on the pure mess that was this marriage. It makes a certain amount of sense for the show, since we’re entering a period where Elizabeth’s marriage was stable and untroubled, which doesn’t necessarily make for the best sort of drama. Looks like we’ll be treated to a lot of HBC sucking on the scenery, which will never not be fun. To be honest, we’re less interested in her interactions with Daniels than we are her scenes with Colman, which are likely to be pure fire.
