Michael Douglas, Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly at the “Ant-Man and The Wasp” London Photocall

Brace yourselves. We’ve reached the portion of the poledance we like to call “Super Damn Goofy.” We don’t actually like to call it that, but if we were the types of people to go around labeling things unnecessarily, we quite possibly could settle on that term for that segment of a major movie promotional tour in which the participants pretty much run out of decent style options and start pulling from the B pile.

To wit:

We warned you, didn’t we? And for once, Evie’s not sporting the goofiest look here – although those pants are coming damn close to taking the prize. The jacket’s kind of great, although it’s too big on her. And the hair and hoops certainly help her look. Paul’s not doing so bad either, but he looks pretty bored with the whole thing and his bland gray suit isn’t helping matters.

But of course, there can only be one. One goofy-ass above all other goofy-asses, and this time, it’s Grandpa Michael, briefly interrupting his cruise vacation in order to act like a movie star, if not dress like one.

Yeah, no.

Look, he’s earned the right to take things a bit easy on the promo front, but we don’t need to see your feet, Michael. And we don’t think it’s asking too much for you to sport clothes that have seen an iron recently and that you intend on actually buttoning instead of letting them hang off you like you’re day-drinking. Legends have a little leeway when it comes to the red carpet, but considering how much work ladies like Jane Fonda and Helen Mirren routinely put in for their public appearance, we don’t think it’s too much to expect the co-star of a major blockbuster to show up to promote looking like they give a damn.
