Check THIS Duchess out! Getting all cazh and chic and casual chic and stuff!

Can you tell we’re happy with the results? Because we are. After several months of post-wedding largely personality-free ensembles (with one or two minor exceptions), it’s a delight to see Megs stepping out in something so cute, photogenic, and stylish.

It occurs to us that our use of “personality” when describing an outfit tends to refer to the combination of design elements and whether or not they produce a mood, a moment, or a message. When the design elements are dull or don’t seem to add up to much, we say the look lacks personality. Here, we see a Meghan not afraid of a rich color, a sporty fabric, an eye-grabbing silhouette, and a big, bold belt. It’s all sporty, but elegantly chic in a very – we’re just gonna say it – American sort of way. Breezy is the word.

Love the little cap sleeves on her. Love that she’s making use of the pocket. And we LOVELOVE the rattan clutch, which is exactly the sort of low-key chicness in the Michelle Obama mode that we think she needs to play with more. She’s been tending toward an American Socialite style in the Carolyn Bessette Kennedy mode ever since she got engaged, but she’d be much better off looking to Shelley O as her style icon. Clean lines, a little swing in the skirt, a boldly defined waist, a rich color, and exposed arms. It’s your look, Duchess.
