The eternal, never-asked-and-never-answered question, darlings! Just what does one wear to the premiere of their Pooh film?
Hayley Atwell in J. Mendel
If one is Hayley Atwell, one goes with this, evidently: a strapless yet somehow lightly romantic gown that manages to be both neutral and colorful at the same time. It is a conundrum of a dress. And we really like it for her. It neatly straddles those romance/sexy/glam lines without being too much of one or the other. And it manages that rare trick of being a more of less conventionally pretty gown that doesn’t quite look like anything anyone else has been wearing lately. It’s a good choice for her. We don’t like the hair and makeup at all, though. That mullet isn’t doing a thing to set off those earrings.
And if one is Ewan McGregor? One does their best Ewan McGregor, of course:
We like how he switched out his usual black laceup boots for something with a bit more of a summer feel. Having said that, this is kind of weird-looking. Not even he can make white shoes work with a conventional black suit. We get that he’s got a distinct look and the only reason it’s worked so long for him is because he kept the details as minimalist as possible. But he’s way past time for a rethink and freshen-up on the style front.
