Darlings, after a full decade of bitching about the joyless, safe, colorless and generic style choices of your average celebrity, we feel duty-bound to toss around some huzzahs rather freely in response to this one:
HUZZAH, darling. BRAVA, even.
Yes, it’s kind of ugly, but it’s fun and bright and she’s a pop star, which means she gets special legal dispensation to wear ugly clown clothes and have people like us call them “fun and bright” in response. No, really. We’ll reiterate once again our Number One rule of good style, which is when the right look is matched to the right wearer in the right setting for both of them. If Miss Gal wants to head to her TV gig dressed like a Batman supervillain, we can do nothing but applaud in response. Her job is not so much to be stylish as it is to be outrageous and eye-catching. Mission accomplished.
But your shoes are all wrong, dear.
