Style File: Jessica Chastain Jumpsuits For Your Love

Posted on June 26, 2018

Miss Jessica hit the streets hard this week, in an array of lewks to promote her new White Lady movie (see trailer below). For this round, she stuck with funky jumpsuits and simple color stories, apparently not feeling the need for frills or prints or embellishments — except when it came to her footwear choices, where all bets were off, apparently. Let’s judge her for all these choices, shall we?

She went for the Scrolldown Surprise and we have to say, we think she nailed it. We wouldn’t normally be fans of such a bottom-heavy approach, but the eye-catching boots work pretty well with the shape, style and color of the jumpsuit. Plus, it’s all perfect for a sit-down interview on television. We’ve gotta give her this one. It’s unexpected, but it comes together pretty well.

This one, not so much. While we once again appreciate the deployment of a fun, eye-catching shoe, we really don’t like the slit pant effect. Plus the bodice looks like it could use a bit of a fit adjustment and the waist sash tends to give it all a bit of a karate gi feel to it. And we don’t think white’s the best choice for her, given her coloring. She basically deployed the same approach to two outfits with wildly different results.
