Meghan Markle Continues to Play it Extremely Safe in Givenchy at the Royal Ascot 2018

Posted on June 19, 2018

It’s been a non-stop whirlwind summer of appearances for the world’s favorite newly minted duchess! But if you think ol’ Megs is about to whip out any surprises for her official appearances, you may be in for a summer of letdowns, darlings. We’re just saying.

Duchess Meghan, Plain and Tall. She’s practically Amish in her style preferences right now. We realize this weekend’s flowy floral was not well-received, but we tended to like it just for having some personality, a quality her official ensembles seem to possess less and less of with each subsequent appearance. Take the hat, belt and embroidery away and she’s stuck in a nursing uniform circa 1950. We never thought anyone could out-do Duchess Cathy in the “Playing it Safe” Sweepstakes, but Meghan’s style choices are making Mrs. Cambridge look like Madonna in comparison.

We do like the hat, though. Probably because it actually has some swoop and drama to it, unlike the rest of her choices.
