Cathy Cambridge Steps it Up a Little in Alexander McQueen at the Trooping the Colour Ceremony

While her hubs was off playing with horses, Mrs. Cathy rode alongside her stepmother-in-law, in surprisingly coordinated outfits.

Then again, it would seem most of the family was feeling a blue-or-pink theme for this one. We don’t honestly know how coordinated the styling on these events tend to be among the family members, but Meghan and Cathy’s looks complement each other nicely without looking anything alike.

That squared-off neckline with the puffy shoulders is not her usual bag, so she gets some credit for evolving her style a bit. It seems to us that her style is slowly getting more mature and even more “royal” in tone. Blue is her signature color, but this pastel version feels fresh. We have to say, though: as dramatic as the hat is, it’s kind of severe-looking against her face. That sharply angled point dipping down doesn’t make for a great effect. Still, this is a pretty great look overall for her; straddling a line between propriety and a little high-fashion fierceness.
