Because we feel like traveling back to last Saturday, when the world was full of love and pretty dresses, as God intended it to be. Because we wanted to remind you of all our fabulous Royal Wedding coverage in case you missed it. Because it’s not mean or blasphemous to judge people’s church clothes and we totally won’t all go to hell for this. And finally, because it’s Friday and there’s just not a whole lot —

Why are we explaining ourselves? Let’s get to judging these ladies!

Lo’s Pick: Kitty Spencer in Dolce&Gabbana Alta Moda at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Wedding.

Lo’s Defense: Well for one: our tweet of this dress literally shattered all previous records of engagement. In other words, after ten years on twitter, our tweet about this dress became the most popular of our tweets by a huge margin. Every Met Gala look, every Oscars look, and even every Royal Wedding look – from BOTH Royal Weddings! – did not receive as much response on social media as this one look. Maybe that’s not the best reason to vote for it here, but it should tell you something about how passionately people responded to this look. It’s absolutely gorgeous, perfectly suited and fitted to her, accessorized exactly as it should be. She actually managed to snatch attention away from the most famous bride in the world on her wedding day. That’s a feat that should go on her tombstone.

T’s Pick: Gina Torres in Costarellos at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Wedding.

T’s Defense: There were some gorgeously high-impact looks walking into that church on that morning, but over time, as I consider the looks of that day, this one quietly stands out more and more. It perfectly meets the expectations of the day and the setting by being pretty, romantic, and delicately floral. But it also stays true to who she is by being a little bold, with a little Afro-Cuban flair to it, which turned out to be a perfectly on-point choice for the blackest celebration the Church of England ever saw. It’s that combination of romance and reverence with a little flair and style that makes it so appealing to me.

Tough decisions facing the kittens! Which of these church ladies are the fiercest? Will God smite us all for having this conversation? Time will tell!

Who won the red carpet showdown for the Royal Wedding?
