We have no reason to cast doubt on their relationship, but they’ve always been one of those couples that immediately struck us as vaguely unlikely for some reason. That’s unfair, of course, but then we look at shots like these and wonder if it’s their disparate styles we’re reacting to.
Granted, she doesn’t usually dress so … declaratively. We kind of like it for being bold and eye-catching, which this kind of red carpet calls for. On the other hand, it’s more than a little costumey. And the beading looks way overdone. And the shape is kind of awful. And the hair doesn’t set it off at all.
Okay, so. “Bold” seems to be the only good thing we can say about it. Also: we’re just about done with all the hardcore eyeshadow action that’s been going on this week.
He looks pretty great, if highly conventional. It’s nice to see a blue suit on the red carpet that’s kind of lightweight and summery rather than business-like. We just wish that feeling had extended to the tie choice.
