Meghan and Harry 2018: Priyanka Chopra and Serena Williams Bring the Glam to the Evening Reception

Posted on May 20, 2018

Darlings, the evening reception for Harry and Meghan at Frogmore House was much more tightly controlled (in terms of press access) than the wedding itself, remaining fairly locked down as a private affair. Still, considering how glittering and star-studded this whole day was, it’s perhaps not surprising that a few famous ladies wanted to show off their gorgeous gowns.

We liked Miss Priyanka’s day outfit for the wedding, although the longer we looked at it the more it seemed both over-designed and a bit of a cliche. For the reception, she went in the opposite direction: simple elegance with a touch of glamour.

Having said that, this still strikes us as a bit overdone. We don’t love the dark lining and the overwrought bodice. And while the earrings and bag are both lovely, neither one of them coordinate well with the dress. The former are oversized and too glam, and the latter doesn’t offer much contrast and isn’t in quite the same style sphere as the dress.

This is a stunner, head to toe. Our first impulse was to suggest a belt, but we don’t think we’d have liked adding anything to this look, let alone some bulk around the waist. Besides, when you’ve got a skirt that gorgeous and a pendant that drop-dead fabulous, who cares if the bodice is a bit generic? Besides, the sportiness of the top half suits her. She look amazing. We’ll take that further: this may be the best she’s ever looked.
