Darlings, did you get all obsessed with Killing Eve like we told you to? Are you not loving the sexy/dangerous interplay Sandra Oh’s Eve and Miss Jodie’s murderous psychopath (with excellent taste in gifts) Villanelle? And if the answers to these questions are in the affirmative, isn’t this look a crushing disappointment?
Or is it just us?
We are fully supportive of any ladystar who doesn’t want to worry about her boobs hanging out or legs being assessed by millions in real time. That is to say, we’ve always been proponents of the idea that women should dress comfortably and for coverage (if they desire it) when doing a sit-down appearance on a talk show. The issue here isn’t that she’s covered up. It’s what she’s covered up with. That is one frumpy and un-telegenic look. She’s serving up “Office Manager, circa 1986” and we have no idea why.
Maybe the blouse can work, but not with those earrings and that green eyeshadow. Not with the Juice Newton hair. And not with a pair of nondescript black pants. Sorry, but no, Miss Jodie. Wipe that algae makeup off, pull your hair back, put on a pair of jeans, switch out the earrings for hoops, and slap on some metallic pumps. Then we’ll talk.
