We think Cannes Marion is our favorite Marion to cover. She really comes alive in this setting, partially because it’s French and partially because Cannes encourages a certain sort of eye-popping style that just so happens to be her favorite sort of red carpetry. Cannes expects you to make a splash and she is very good at doing that with her style choices.

LOVE the colors and print. Also love the sweep of the skirt and the sportiness of the top in combination. But that belt situation is overwrought and distracting and the shorts do nothing to help the look. Everything in her midsection-to-hip area is badly designed, ruining the lines and feel of the rest of it. An admirable and bold attempt, but it’s hard to get past some of the goofiness.

This, on the other hand, is nearly perfect, top to bottom. It’s eye-catching and just different enough to take a great picture. It’s glamorous, but with a resort feel to it. We don’t tend to love big bows on grown women, but this one works, largely because of the simplicity of the design, but also because it works well from a proportional perspective, especially in combination with the other non-simple aspect of it: the sleeves.
Love the hair, which goes with that whole resort/vacation chic kind of vibe, but those earrings look a little cheap and costumey.
