Good Lady Cate is taking the occasion of her jury membership at Cannes to do exactly what we’d hoped: Cycle through so much fashion at such a rapid pace that we can barely keep up with it all.
Remember, most actresses, even the stylish ones, if they had to wear several stunning looks every day for days on end, would inevitably wind up half-assing just a few of them because they’re only human and life’s not a runway, after all.
Not so with the Good Lady:

Here she is, modeling the very latest in alien lizard couture, the way God intended her to. It’s weird, and we’re fairly convinced it’s not even all that pretty, but she’s in the Fashion Zone right now and the point isn’t playing into anyone’s princess fantasies but to just keep unveiling LEWKS, one right after the other.
We don’t mind the weirdness of it, but the faux-nudeness is kind of bleh – you’ll pardon the highly technical terminology. We’d have loved a bold, neon-hued backing color.

Next, Miss Lady veers wildly and unexpectedly into … classic minimalist chic. It’s something she can do in her sleep – and probably has. It’s all about three elements here: the necklace, first and foremost, followed by the texture of the fabric and the simple glamour of her hair. It all works to elevate a design that could be seen as too basic.

And finally (for now), the Good Lady opted to make it all about the skirt. We confess, our anti-turtleneck prejudices has us wishing the neckline could be just a skosh lower on her, but there’s a nice balance between top and bottom and we suppose the existing Satanic neckline is part of that.
It almost doesn’t matter because the attention is all focused downward, as it should be. Tiered skirts are dicey sorts of things, but the unusual colors and rainbow effect really make it eye-catching.
