You see the words “Kristen Stewart in Chanel Couture” and you think you know what you’re going to get. And by “you,” mean “we,” of course. But this? This was truly unexpected:
The very last sort of look we’d ever expect to see her in is a gold-embroidered lace gown. To no one’s surprise (except apparently the folks at Chanel), it’s not a look that suits her at all. The neutral, bland color story does nothing for her and the conservatively feminine style is completely off-brand. Plus the sleeves are goofy as hell and we can’t look at the shoes too long without getting a little upset with them for existing. She doesn’t look terrible; just not at all like herself. The fact that the dress is kind of ugly in its own right is a separate issue.
Even the hair and makeup look wrong for her. Kristen, did your team get drunk last night?
