Congratulations to the Tony nominees! To celebrate this career high, and because the red carpet pickins the week before the Met Gala are so dire, we’re going to judge all your style choices very harshly!
Psych. We’ll just offer some light thoughts, darlings.
Thanks to her deep commitment to the Oscars poledance, we now have a pretty decent understanding of Miss Laurie’s style preferences. For one: she likes a funky sleeve. But that’s the only aspect here that seems familiar to our eyes, since she also consistently deployed sleek shapes, bold colors, and plunging necklines, none of which are in evidence here. She kept her sense of drama and her love of the quirky, but steered away from movie-star excesses. It’s bold, but serious.
Andrew kept it all very toned down and approachable, but just photogenic enough. We don’t think there was much in the way of style options for him in this situation, since a suit might seem a bit grandiose. This is pretty much a straight-down-the-middle style.
Cute and approachable; photogenic and on-brand for her. Of course countless women are walking city sidewalks in some version of this look. That’s kind of the whole point. It helps that it looks great on her.
