Darlings, time for us to put this unexpectedly high-impact red carpet to bed. We’ve waded through and picked out all the more notable looks for opinion-spewing, but now we’ve just got to shove them all together and do it quick n’ dirty, lest we be accused of lingering at the party too long.
Ciara in Julien MacDonald
It’s shimmery, it’s a little too complicated for its own good, it’s mostly naked. In other words, it’s a Ciara jawn, as we’ve come to expect. We’re a bit bored by it, but her hair looks great.
Darren Criss in Dior Homme
That tux is fine, but we don’t think we can co-sign the airbrushed-van lapels.
Thank you, Derek, for answering the question of whether an adult man can get away with wearing what 13-year-old Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp pulled off perfectly. Turns out? No. Not at all.
Dua Lipa in Alexandre Vauthier
The bow is too much and the shoes are hideous. Other than that, we think this works better than it should.
Halsey in Redemption
Love the shoes but the dress is a yawn.
He looks great, but we’re pretty sure no one else could make this work.
Mila Kunis in David Koma
The skirt’s okay, but the top is terrible. And we don’t think the bangs do anything for her.
Nothing wrong with any of this, although we might’ve rec’d a lighter shoe.
Padma Lakshmi in The Blonds
Credit to her for bringing some high-impact red carpetry to the proceedings and credit to The Blonds for producing something that doesn’t look like a costume. Still, it’s pretty tacky, even if this is the place for it.
Tyra Banks in Marc Bouwer
She is so perfect for “Disney Witch.” Love the dress, but the shoes are awful.
