Here is an example of how we love you and put your needs first, darlings: We have decided to refrain from making any Eye of the Tiger jokes for the duration of this post.
But it wasn’t easy, that’s for sure.
Absolutely all color bets are off this spring, with an entire crayon box full of options being considered on trend and in play. It took us a minute, but we love the drama of this color story in combination with the playful fierceness of the print. We’ve said before that she always looks best when she works something with a vaguely ominous or visually severe tone to it, which this gives her, right down to those diamond chandelier bear traps she’s got on her ears. They’re not exactly pretty to our eyes, but the barbed effect plays to her darkness.
The only part that doesn’t work are the shoes. Mentally switching them out for black renders them invisible and white would play against the feel of the look. We can understand why she chose red, but the metallic finish looks distinctly winter holidays.
Still, it’s smart, sharp, and just a little intimidating, which is exactly her best kind of look.
