Miss Evan Rachel Wood BREAKS THE TLO RECORD by making no less than THREE appearances on the same day. CONGRATULATIONS, darling! This is a very big deal for you! Maybe even a professional high point!
That does not, however, mean that you don’t have one more hurdle to overcome before winning the week. And girl, it’s a hell of a hurdle.
T’s Pick: Evan Rachel Wood at HBO’s Westworld Season 2 Premiere in Altuzarra.
T’s Defense: She’s the red carpet queen of the ladysuit. No one does it better. And this one has the benefit of lightly playing into Westworld’s old-timey aesthetic without being literal about it. She may be sepia-toned and sporting a fob and chain, but this is entirely modern and fresh. And no one else looked quite like this this week, even though we saw plenty of ladysuits on the red carpet.
Lo’s Pick: Storm Reid at the 2018 DVF Awards in DVF.
Lo’s Defense: She and her team are quietly redefining Young Miss red carpet style, offering up something that looks classically chic, but has a playfully youthful undertone that never comes across precious or precocious. It’s a pretty dress in a great range of colors, but it becomes something entirely different when combined with the braids, hair ribbons, and glasses. She’s proving that there’s a way to do high-fashion looks for girls without trying to look like a Vogue cover, a princess, or a sex symbol. It’s smart-chic.
Two different ladies making two different but equally important statements about themselves and about good style! Which will it be, darlings?
