Once again, your pals T Lo are all over the pop culture map this week, darlings. There’s no real theme to at all except our usual fascination with the fabulous, the interesting, and even the occasionally infuriating.
On the latter two points, we present a discussion on our current obsession, the Netflix documentary about the Oregon Rajneeshi compound, Wild Wild Country, featuring the controversial and unforgettable Ma Anand Sheela:
We keep most of the discussion non-spoilery and then warn you to skip ahead when we’re about to go deep, because as we mention a time or two during the discussion, the only reason to watch this occasionally problematic documentary with its questionable methods and conclusions, is so your jaw can drop over and over again as each new bombshell and plot twist reveals itself – and everything has accompanying footage to back it up, making it both a particularly strong (if manipulative) documentary, as well as an unnecessarily long one.
Next up, thoughts and opinions on the first few episodes of the Starz adaptation of Howards End.
It’s a sumptuously appointed, lushly photographed, rapid-fire, sexy modern take on the classic and we can’t wait to tuck into the rest of it.
And finally, many, many opinions (some that even clashed) were spewed over the “Tap That App” episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race:
