Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attend a reception with delegates from the Commonwealth Youth Forum during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London, England.
Looks like these two are once again taking cues from Cathy and Bill:
The Cambridges prefer to dress in matching colors when they make appearances together and it looks like the probably-soon-to-be Sussexes are keeping that tradition going.
The press already had a field day over the fact that she’s wearing white before her wedding day, as if this was all taking place in 1910 or something, but we were more impressed by the simple boldness of the look. That draped-blazer thing is very un-Windsor-like for a public appearance (but par for the course for a fashion-minded actress) and the dress has a little more visual oomph to it than we’re used to seeing from that crowd. It strikes us as one of her more stylish public looks since she stepped into the Royal-watchers’ eyelines. Wearing a cross-body bag under a blazer is kind of a goofy thing to do, though. The Windsor ladies tend to carry clutches or small handbags in public in order to give their hands something to do, provide cleavage coverage getting out of limos, and limit the amount of personal contact required of them in a public appearance. It’s quite telling that she chose to sport a bag this way, keeping her hands free for the kind of hugging and autograph-signing that tend to get her in minor trouble.
Harry’s doing okay, but the brown accents don’t work and his obsessive love of suede footwear is starting to become annoying. Megs, get him to look into some better shoes. We hear he can afford them.
She does tend toward simple B&W looks a lot, doesn’t she? Not a gal who likes to work bold colors, it would seem.
