Nothing but respect for our first Wonder Woman:
One thing we’ve never really given her credit for: Her promotional style is fairly well evolved and always on point, considering she doesn’t get to walk red carpets often and they were nowhere near what they are now when she was at the height of her fame. We don’t think we’ve ever seen her in a public ensemble that wasn’t tasteful, stylish and beautifully fitted.
Not to diminish the accomplishments that got her to this moment, but Miss Lady is a walking advertisement for taking care of yourself and Getting the Good Work Done, if you know what we mean. She looks amazing. And as two people who got to chat with her for about an hour for an interview (something we will be casually dropping into conversation when we’re in our eighties, no doubt), we can attest that she’s a genuinely sweet and sincere person. Of all the Walk of Fame ceremonies we’ve covered, only hers and RuPaul’s made us feel truly happy for them.
We propose that Miss Lynda should hook herself up with Miss Christie (Brinkley) and Miss Iman, and the three of them should launch a lifestyle/fashion/fitness show for seniors. Alternately, just reboot The Golden Girls with the three of them. Cicely Tyson for Sophia.
A testament to her genuineness: Think of how many mature actresses out there, famous for only one role in their careers, who would lovingly, happily, publicly and with great pride pass the baton to a much younger actress and then celebrate the success of her efforts – or in this case, the efforts of the film’s director. She’s the epitome of graciousness in an industry that almost never rewards that sort of thing.
