We’re not the types to assume that the English people as a whole are more refined than others. But there is one thing we tend to assign to them as a defining characteristic: as a people, they have a world-class outerwear game. The Brits know coats.
Maybe not so much on what to pair with those coats, as we don’t think the booties or the tights are really serving the look here, let alone the ruffled cuffs of whatever she’s wearing under it, but the coat itself, with the leather cuffs, loops and belt, playing against that conservative glen plaid? Sharp and chic. It would look great with simple black pants and pumps.
