Darlings, let’s wrap this week up with a veritable tsunami of opinions, offered rapid-fire on a bunch of red carpet looks that didn’t really rate much more than a glance. In other words, let’s dive into our red carpet leftovers and make these celebrities cry for boring us!
Adina Porter in Tracee Ellis Ross for J. C. Penney
Actually, this looks pretty great on her. We’d have rec’d different shoes and about 3 inches off the hem, though.
Cute. Low-effort but cute.
It’s fun, and she clearly dressed with the backdrop in mind, but there needed to be a little more contrast between the jacket and the shirt. And the bolo tie needs to be dropped into an active volcano somewhere.
Lady, get some style help. We’re begging you. You always look like a 75-year-old trying to look 30 years younger instead of a woman actually under fifty.
Another low-effort look that’s kind of cute. The gays excel at this type of look. It’s all that brunching we do.
Tasteful, but dull.
Dan Stevens and Susie Stevens
We’re not entirely convinced on his suit and shirt combo, but we appreciate that they coordinated without looking too matchy.
Milo Ventimiglia, Darren Criss and Ricky Martin
We’re starting to get irritated by all the low-effort men’s looks this week…
Go home, Evan. Start over.
Gabrielle Union in Brandon Maxwell
Getting it done right. It’s simple, but looks fantastic.
Kathryn Hahn in Altuzarra
Such a terrible thing to do to someone working their way through a promotion and trying to maintain some dignity. And as with poor Selena at the same event, the creepy, big-headed avatar only distracts from all the work she did trying to look good. Which she does, by the way. Look good, we mean. She doesn’t always dress so sharp, but it really suits her.
Credit where it’s due: the kicks and pants are working. That DadJacket is awful, though.
FINALLY. An actor who puts a little effort in!
He looks adorable.
A little boring, but we suppose it’s perfectly on point, given what she’s promoting.
Paris Jackson in Emilio Pucci
Fly that freak flag, girl. We’re behind you all the way.
This seems so perfectly her in so many ways, although maybe that’s just the “Desperately Seeking Susan” memories talking. It works, although the white skirt is just a little too bright for the rest of it.
Another very on-point space dress. Looks great, but we’re not loving the blonde highlights.
Hiding the hot behind a blocky suit and gallons of beard and hair dye. Tsk.
