The besties kept their looks coordinated, but distinct to each woman’s tastes and preferences.
Busy Philipps in Christian Siriano
Like so much of Siriano’s red carpet wear, this one’s not about reinventing the wheel or even staying au courant with the trends. It’s about simple, flattering glamour with an extra scoop of glamour. She looks great. We’re not sure about the bust from the side view, though. Too stiff and high, we’re thinking. Too breastplate-y. Also, we’d have liked this with a less severe hairstyle. If you’ve gone pink, why not let it down and show if off?
Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton
Pretty much a nun’s habit with a slit and plunging neckline, but it’s one of the better jawns she’s gotten out of the House of Vuitton. It could use some jewelry to combat the effect. In fact, she’d have been better off leaning into the inherent witchyness of the look and gone for a little more drama in the jewelry and the makeup. But that’s not really her way.
Each look’s okay on its own, but they play off each other very well, like their own friendship, rendered in fashion:
They really do seem to have the sweetest relationship with each other.
